Fabrication is a working proposal for the manufacturing direction within Otto: connecting open designs, machines, materials and skilled people.
Start with appropriate tools, trained operators, reviewed designs and inspected outputs. Furniture, fittings and repairable parts can establish the process before increasingly autonomous production is attempted.
Keep design versions, material provenance, production instructions and repair information connected to the object. Decentralized, fully automated factories remain the long-term ambition, with ownership and operating responsibilities still to define.
Fabrication supplies Tusita through Habitat and Logistics. Bloom carries skills; SideGigs records paid delivery; Steward brings repairs back into the workshop. Otto’s device vision is one potential use of this shared capability.
